Apologies for the late meet report (I’ve been away) .. Better late than never, as we had some amazing results!!
We had 8 Sharks compete at the qualifying meet held at the AIS on the weekend of 15 & 16 October, 2016 including Amy, Emma G, Jarrod, Jessica L, Kurt, Ethan, Nicholas and Yaroslav.
Amy competed in 4 events with a 100% PB rate:-
- Women 11&U 50m Breaststroke, achieving a 0.82 second PB;
- Women Open 50m Butterfly, achieving a 1.12 second PB;
- Women 11-12yo 50m Freestyle, achieving a HUGE 3.18 second PB and 7th Place; and qualified for NSW STATE U10&U12 YEARS AGE CHAMPIONSHIPS … CONGRATULATIONS AMY!!!!
- Women 11-12yo 100m Backstroke, achieving a 1.19 second PB and 5th Place.
Emma G competed in 1 event:-
- Women Open 400m Freestyle, achieving GOLD.
Jarrod competed in 6 events:-
- Men Open 400m Freestyle, achieving GOLD.
- Men 15&O 200m Backstroke, achieving SILVER;
- Men 15&O 50m Freestyle, achieving a 0.03 second PB and 6th Place;
- Men 15&O 200m Individual Medley, achieving BRONZE;
- Men Open 400m Individual Medley, achieving GOLD; and
- Men 15&O 100m Backstroke, achieving BRONZE.
Jessica L competed in 5 events with a 100% PB rate:-
- Womens 13-14yo 100m Backstroke, achieving a 1.79 second PB and GOLD; and qualified for NSW STATE 13-18 YEARS AGE CHAMPIONSHIPS
- Women Open 50m Butterfly, achieving a 0.84 second PB and 6th Place;
- Women 13-14yo 100m Butterfly, achieving a 1.88 second PB and SILVER;
- Women Open 400m Individual Medley, achieving a 2.86 second PB and BRONZE; and
- Women 14&U 200m Freestyle, achieving a HUGE 5.69 second PB and 5th Place.
Kurt competed in 6 events:-
- Men 10&U 100m Butterfly, achieving 4th Place;
- Men 10&U 50m Freestyle, achieving a 0.88 second PB and BRONZE;
- Men 10&U 100m Backstroke, achieving a 1.32 second PB and BRONZE;
- Men 10&U 100m Freestyle, achieving a HUGE 4.95 second PB and 6th Place and qualified for NSW STATE U10&U12 YEARS AGE CHAMPIONSHIPS … CONGRATULATIONS KURT!!!!
- Men 11&U 50m Butterfly, achieving a 0.45 second PB and 9th Place; and
- Men 10&U 200m Individual Medley, achieving another HUGE 6.01 second PB and 4th Place.
Ethan competed in 6 events:-
- Men 15&O 200m Freestyle, achieving 8th Place;
- Men 15&O 200m Backstroke, achieving 4th Place;
- Men 15&O 100m Breaststroke, achieving 4th Place;
- Men Open 400m Individual Medley, achieving SILVER;
- Men 15&O 100m Backstroke, achieving 5th Place; and
- Men 15&O 200m Breaststroke, achieving BRONZE.
Nicholas competed in 5 events:-
- Men Open 50m Butterfly, achieving a 0.01 second PB;
- Men 11-12yo 100m Breaststroke, achieving 9th Place;
- Men 11-12yo 50m Freestyle;
- Men 11-12yo 100m Backstroke, achieving a 1.40 second PB and 7th Place; and
- Men 14&U 200m Breaststroke, achieving an ENORMOUS 11.98 second PB.
Yaroslav competed in
- Men 10&U 100m Butterfly, achieving a 3.22 second PB and GOLD;
- Men 10&U 100m Breaststroke, achieving a 2.48 second PB and GOLD; and broke the Woden Swim Club LC record (previously held since 8/2/2004);
- Men 10&U 50m Freestyle, achieving GOLD;
- Men 10&U 100m Backstroke, achieving GOLD;
- Men 10&U 100m Freestyle, achieving a 2.27 second PB and GOLD; and broke the Woden Swim Club LC record (previously held since 25/02/2006);
- Men 11&U 50m Butterfly, achieving a 0.69 second PB and SILVER; and broke the Woden Swim Club LC record (previously held since 11/04/2006); and
- Men 10&U 200m Individual Medley, achieving an ENORMOUS 8.71 second PB and GOLD; and broke the Woden Swim Club LC record (previously held since 20/02/2004).
