2023 ACT Championships

Age as at 4 February 2023
Entries: $10.00 per event (includes swimmer pool entry).
Online entries only through Swim Central.
Entries close at 8:00pm on Tuesday 31 January 2023.
The Championships are open to all swimmers registered as
first claim members of clubs affiliated with Swimming
ACT.
Entry times: Swimmers must have an official long course
(LC) or short course (SC) time achieved since 1 October
2021 to enter an event. SC times will be seeded after LC
times. Specific entry qualifying times apply to events 400m
freestyle and IM and 200m backstroke, breaststroke and
butterfly (see table below).
MC Championship events: a swimmer must hold a current
Multi Class classification for the given stroke and have an
official time (LC or SC) recorded for that event achieved
since 1 October 2021.
Swimming NSW Rules apply.
The Meet Director reserves the right to amend program if
necessary.

The 8 & under Championship events (50m freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly) will be swum in
conjunction with the Speedo Sprint heats on Sunday 29 January 2023.
The championship points for the 800m and 1500m freestyle will be determined using the best official long course
time achieved for the 800m and 1500m freestyle by each swimmer who swam one or both of these events
between 1 February 2022 and 3 February 2023 providing the qualifying time (see below) was met.
Awards
Championship events: Medals presented to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd placegetters with
– 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 years and 15 & over medals awarded in 100m events, 50m freestyle and 200m individual
medley
– 9-10, 11-12, 13-14 and 15 & over medals awarded in the 200m freestyle
– 9-12, 13-14 and 15 & over medals awarded in the 200m backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly and 400m
freestyle
– 11-14 and 15 & over medals awarded in the 400m individual medley
– 9, 10, 11, 12 years medals awarded in the 9-12 years 50m backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly
– All other events – one set of medals per event
MC Championship events: Medals presented to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd swimmers.
2023 Swimming ACT Championships
Swimming ACT 2023 Age Champions
Individual championship points will be determined using HY-TEK age points.
For MC events, the MC pointscore system will be used.
ACT Age Champions (male and female) will be determined as follows:
8&U Age Champions – 8&U Age Champions (boys and girls) will be determined using the 50m Freestyle, Backstroke,
Breaststroke and Butterfly events swum as part of the Speedo Sprint Series ACT heats.
9-18&O Age Champions (9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18&O) and MC Champion (Open) – The Age Champions (boys
and girls) will be determined using the seven (7) highest points gained in Championship events, provided the
swimmer competed in at least five (5) events. The MC Champions (male and female) will be determined using the
seven (7) highest pointing MC events for that swimmer from points gained in MC events.
Swimming ACT 2023 Men and Women’s Champion Club
Points awarded to the first eight finishing competitors for each age group (8&U, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17,
18&O) in non MC events and the first eight finishing competitors in MC events.
Points: 1st -35, 2nd – 30, 3rd – 26, 4th – 23, 5th – 20, 6th – 17, 7th – 14 and 8th – 11.
