It’s time for another club night – FRIDAY 28 May 2021.
Warm up from 4.30pm and racing commences at 5.15pm with an approximate 6.30pm finish.
Same drill as last time – entries are to be completed on Swim Central. Entries are now open and will close Wednesday 26 May at 8pm. Follow the link. Max of 4 races per swimmer.
This month our 200m event is the 200IM (no 100IM this time around) and we have 2 additional events at the end of the night – a 400m freestyle and 400m IM. These events have been added for those swimmers who are after a qualifying time for the Winter meet series.
Times will be official so any swimmers looking for qualifying times for upcoming meets, or PBs, here is your chance. Club nights are great opportunity for our new and younger swimmers to give racing and new events or distances a go and perfect for practicing racing.
As usual this club night will be run short course. Order of events appears in the swim central meet link. Any swimmer entering a 25m event should not enter a longer distance in the same stroke in this meet. While we haven’t enforced break times for the 25m events, any swimmer who has beaten or is approaching 30 seconds for any stroke should consider giving the 50m event a go in a fun and supportive environment.
If you are not a registered swimmer (e.g. younger siblings) you will be required to complete a manual entry to Melissa at: clubnight.coordinator@wodenswimclub.org.au
including; full name of swimmer, age at 28/5/21, and the races you wish to enter (max of 4). Please also include a mobile contact number if we need to clarify details.
Remember we need volunteers to help run our club nights. We as always will need time-keepers (2 per lane for official times). If you have no time keeping experience that’s ok we will pair you with a buddy that does have experience. Remember that the time-keepers get the best view in the house, so give it a go!
Any parents/carers that are interested in learning some of the other roles, we would love your help! Training and supervision will be provided if anyone wants to give a different job a go. It will be great if we have a group of skilled volunteers so we can share the load for club nights and meets! Please let Melissa clubnight.coordinator@wodenswimclub.org.au know if you are able to volunteer in any capacity at the club night.
Cannot wait to see you all there, so get those entries in!
