MEET REPORT:
Winter Development and Distance Meet 4
[Sunday, 19th of August, 2018]
We had eighteen fantastic Sharks compete at the 4th Winter Development Meet last Sunday. Congratulations to Jeff, Lauren, Eric, Kevin, Ben, Lillian, Imogen, Gabrielle, Madeline, Genevieve, James, Louis (M-Y), Amy M, Jonah, Charli, Sarah, Liam and Tessa– what an awesome turn out for our team and a great effort from everyone! Thank you to Coaches Jasmine and Brittany for your support and mentoring throughout the day!
- Jeff competed in the 50m BR, FL and FR, achieving PB’s on the 50m BR and FL, and 2nd place in both events
- Lauren raced in the 50m BR, 25m FL and FR, achieving PB’s across all swims and placing 1st for the 25m FR, and 2nd for the 50m BR and 25m FL
- Eric competed in the 100m BK and FL, with a PB in the 100m BK, and placing 1st in both events
- Kevin raced in the 50m BK, BR; FR and FL and the 100m BK, achieving PB’s for the 50m BR, FR, FL and 100m BK, receiving 1st place for the 50m FL; BK and 100m BK, and 3rd place for the 50m BR and FR
- Ben competed in the 50m FL, BR and 100m BR, achieving PB’s across all swims and receiving 1st place for the 50m BR, and 2nd place in the 50m FL. Ben competed in the 100m BR as an exhibition swimmer trying to qualify for Nationals. Whilst PB’ing, there’s a bit more to go so good luck Ben, keep it up!
- Imogen raced in the 50m BR, FR and FL and the 100m IM, achieving PB’s across the 50m FR, FL and 100m IM
- Lillian competed in the 50m BK and BR, achieving PB’s across both swims
- Gabrielle raced in the 50m BR and BK; and the 100m BR and IM; achieving PB’s in the 5m and 100m BR and the 100m IM
- Madeline competed in the 100m FL, achieving a PB
- Genevieve raced in the 50m FR and BK and the 25m FL, achieving PB’s in the 25m FL and the 50m FR, receiving 1st place in the 25m FL
- James competed in the 200m FR, achieving a PB receiving 2nd place
- Louis raced in the 50m FR; BK; BR and the 25m FL, achieving PB’s across all events and receiving 1st place for the 50m BR, 50m FR and 25m FL; and 2nd place for the 50m BK
- Amy M competed in the 50m, 100m and 200m FR; and the 50m FL and 100m IM, achieving PB’s across all events and receiving 1st place in the 200m FR.
- Jonah raced in the 50m, 100, and 200m FR; and the 50m FL and 100m IM, achieving PB’s across all events, receiving 1st place for the 50m FL and 100m FR. Jonah also achieved the break time for the 50m FR.
- Charli competed in the 25m BK, BR and FR, achieving PB’s across all events, and receiving 2nd place in the 25m BR and 3rd place in the 25m BK
- Sarah raced in the 50m FR, BK, BR, FL; and the 100m FR, achieving PB’s in the 50m and 100m FR; the 50m BK and FL
- Liam competed in the 50m FR, BR and BK; the 100m BR and the 200m IM, achieving PB’s across all events, receiving 1st place for the 200m IM and 50m FL; 2nd place for the 50m and 100m BR; and 3rd place for the 50m FR
- Tessa raced in the 50m FL and BK; and the 100m FR, BK and IM, achieving PB’s in the 100m FR and 50m FL, receiving 3rd place for the 100m IM
It was great to see members of all our squads at the meet- there was something there for everyone. Congratulations everyone, we are all proud of your efforts! What a great way to finish the short course season.

Later that day, we had the Distance Meet:
It was also the last chance to swim a Short Course Distance event for the season. We had seven strong Sharks compete in these events. Congratulations to Eric, Madeline, Kurt, Jonah, Olivia, Emma and Amy G for your efforts. Thank you to coaches Brittany and Jasmine for your mentorship and support, and to Coach Steve for a surprise visit!
- Eric competed in the 200m BR, achieving 3rd place and a PB
- Madeline raced in the 200m BK,
- Kurt competed in the 400m FR, achieving 1st place, and a PB
- Amy G who also competed in the 400m FR, achieving 2nd place and a PB
- Olivia who also raced in the 400m FR
- Emma competed in the 200m FL, achieving 1st place
- Jonah raced in the 200m BK and the 400m FR, achieving 3rd place in the 200m BK, and a PB in the 400m FR
