We had a smashing time at the ACT Winter Championships last weekend, the 11th and 12th of August.
Congratulations to Ben, Jake N, Jake M, Nick, Libby, Genevieve, James, Kurt, Jessica (Silver), Sophia, Jessica (Gold), Jarrod, Emma, Jonah, Tyler and Amy G for sensational efforts and a fun weekend! Thank you to Coach Steve and Coach Maddie for your mentoring and support throughout the meet.
- Ben competed in the 50m, 100m, 200m, and 400m FR; 100m BK, BR and FL- earning some great PB’s and 1st place for the 50m FR, 100m BK, 100m FL and 100m BR. Well done!
- We had a surprise visit from Nick, who came all the way from Thailand. Nick competed in the 50m and 100m FR; 100m and 200m BK; 100m and 200m BR- scoring some great PB’S. We wish you a safe trip back home and hope you drop by again!
- Jake N competed in the 50m, 100m and 200m BK; 50m, 100m and 200m BR; and the 200 IM- achieving some great PB’s.
- Libby competed in the 50m BR with a solid swim

It was great to see so many Sharks making the most of this weekend, our last main meet for the Short Course season. Many sharks tried the Backstroke ledges usually available at higher level meets. The cheering and support for team mates was well displayed (and heard), and we shared in the team spirit of the meet amongst many local and visiting teams. Well done everyone, we are all proud of your achievements.

A massive thank you to those who assisted over the weekend in Official or other voluntary roles, or who made contributions to our smooth running of the meet on Saturday. By all accounts it was a great success, in no small part due to the assistance of club members. Keep it up!
