MEET REPORT : Woden Qualifying Meet

We had 21 AMAZING SHARKS compete at our club’s Long Course Qualifying Meet held over the weekend of 21 & 22 October, 2017.  CONGRATULATIONS Liam, Oliver, Quinn, Amy, Emma G, Olivia H, Jarrod, Jessica, Kurt, Jake M, Kiara, Jake N, Nathan, Ben, Imogen, Isabel, Jasmine T, Natasha, Caitlin, Eric, and Yaroslav and THANK YOU Coach Steve and Coach Maddie for your mentoring and support throughout the championships.

• LIAM competed in 4 events including the Men 11&U 50m Backstroke; 11&U 50m Breaststroke; 11&U 100m Freestyle achieving 7th Place with a 0.25 second PB; and Men 10&U 200m Individual Medley achieving 8th Place.
• OLIVER competed in his first Qualifying Meet in 4 events including the Men 11-12yo 50m LC Freestyle achieving a 0.28 second PB; Mixed Open 200m LC Breaststroke for the first time; 200m LC Freestyle for the first time; and 200m LC Backstroke for the first time.
• QUINN competed in his first Qualifying Meet in 1 event being Men 10&U 50m Freestyle.
• AMY competed in 5 events including the Mixed Open 200m Freestyle achieving a 0.58 second PB; Women Open 100m Backstroke; Women 12-13 100m Butterfly receiving a BRONZE MEDAL with a 2.61 second PB; Women 12-13 100m Freestyle achieving 4th Place with a 1.23 second PB; and the Women 11-12yo 200m Individual Medley achieving an ENORMOUS 18.45 second PB.
• EMMA G competed in 2 events including the Women Open 400m Freestyle receiving a BRONZE MEDAL and the Women Open 50m Butterfly.
• OLIVIA H competed in 2 events including the Women Open 400m Freestyle for the first time; and the Women Open 50m Freestyle with a 0.07 second PB;
• JARROD competed in 5 events including the Men Open 50m Butterfly receiving a GOLD MEDAL with a 0.18 second PB; Men Open 200m Butterfly achieving a SECOND PLACE; Mixed Open 200m Freestyle achieving a SECOND PLACE; Mixed Open 200m Backstroke achieving SECOND PLACE and Men Open 200m Individual Medley receiving a GOLD MEDAL.
• JESSICA competed in 4 events including the Women Open 400m Freestyle achieving 6th Place with a 1.88 second PB; Mixed Open 200m Butterfly achieving 4th Place; Women Open 400m Individual Medley receiving a GOLD MEDAL; and Women 14-15yo 100m Butterfly receiving a GOLD MEDAL.
• KURT competed in 5 events including Mixed Open 200m Backstroke achieving a 1.11 second PB and is the new Woden Swim Club 11yo Boy Record holder for this event (previously held since 05/01/2013); Men 11-12yo 50m Freestyle achieving 6th Place; Men 11&U 100m Backstroke receiving a SILVER MEDAL with a 1.32 second PB; Mixed Open 200m Freestyle; and Men 11&U 100m Freestyle receiving a SILVER MEDAL with a 1.05 second PB.
• JAKE M competed in 6 events including Men 14-15yo 100m Breaststroke, receiving a GOLD MEDAL with a 3.22 second PB and qualified for the 2018 Georgina Hope Foundation Australian Age Championships; Mixed Open 200m Breaststroke achieving SECOND PLACE with a 0.75 second PB; Men Open 400m Individual Medley receiving a BRONZE MEDAL; Men Open 50m Breaststroke receiving a BRONZE MEDAL with a 0.37 second PB; Men 14-15yo 100m Freestyle achieving 7th Place with a 3.35 second PB, breaking the 1 minute mark; and the Men Open 200m Individual Medley achieving 5th Place.
• KIARA competed in 6 events including Women 12-13yo 100m Breaststroke achieving 5th Place with a 0.39 second PB; Women 11-12yo 50m Freestyle receiving a BRONZE MEDAL with a 1.10 second PB; Women 12-13yo 100m Backstroke achieving 6th Place with a HUGE 7.18 second PB and qualified for the 2018 NSW Country Championships; Mixed Open 200m Breaststroke for the first time; Women 12-13yo 100m Freestyle receiving a BRONZE MEDAL with a 3.19 second PB; and Women 11-12yo 200m Individual Medley achieving 5th Place with an ENORMOUS 10.79 second PB and qualified for the 2018 NSW Country Championships.
• JAKE N competed in 6 events including Men 14-15yo 100m Breaststroke receiving a BRONZE MEDAL; Men 13-14yo 50m Freestyle with a 0.33 second PB; Men 14-15yo 100m Backstroke achieving 5th Place; Mixed Open 200m Breaststroke achieving 11th Place with a 1.79 second PB; Men Open 50m Breaststroke achieving 12th Place; and Men 14-15yo 100m Freestyle achieving 9th Place.
• NATHAN competed in his first qualifying meet since 2013 in 2 LC events including Men Open 50m Butterfly receiving a SILVER MEDAL with a 0.57 second PB and qualified for the 2018 NSW Country Championships and 2018 NSW State Open Championships; and Men Open 100m Breaststroke receiving a SILVER MEDAL. and qualified for the 2018 NSW Country Championships.
• BEN competed in 7 events including Men Open 50m Butterfly achieving 15th Place with a 0.87 second PB; Men Open 100m Backstroke achieving 9th Place; Men Open 50m Freestyle; Men Open 100m Breaststroke achieving 9th Place; Mixed Open 200m Freestyle; Mixed Open 200m Butterfly achieving THIRD PLACE with an ENORMOUS 38.64 second PB; Men Open 200m Individual Medley achieving 10th Place.
• IMOGEN competed in 1 event being Women 11&U 50m Butterfly.
• ISABEL competed in her first Qualifying Meet in 2 events including Women 11&U 50m Breaststroke achieving 14th Place; and Women 11&U 100m Freestyle achieving 14th Place with a 2.77 second PB.
• JASMINE T competed in 5 events including Women Open 50m Freestyle achieving 12th Place; Women Open 100m Breaststroke achieving 10th Place; Women Open 50m Backstroke; Women Open 100m Freestyle achieving 12th Place; and Women Open 50m Breaststroke achieving 8th Place.
• NATASHA competed in 1 event being Mixed Open 200m Backstroke.
• CAITLIN competed in her first Qualifying Meet in 1 event being Women 11&U 50m Butterfly achieving 12th Place with a 0.89 second PB.
• ERIC competed in 4 events achieving a 100% PB RATE including Men 11&U 100m Breaststroke receiving a BRONZE MEDAL with a 3.29 second PB and qualified for the 2018 NSW Country Championships; Men 11&U 100m Backstroke achieving 6th Place with a 0.16 second PB; Men 11&U 100m Butterfly achieving 4th Place with a HUGE 8.34 second PB; and Men 11&U 100m Freestyle achieving 8th Place with a 0.30 second PB.
• YAROSLAV competed in 9 events, almost achieving a 100% PB RATE including Men 11&U 50m Butterfly receiving a SILVER MEDAL with a 0.68 second PB and continues to be the Woden Swim Club Record holder in this event; Mixed Open 200m Freestyle achieving 21st Place with a HUGE 9.08 second PB; Men 11-12yo 50m Freestyle receiving a SILVER MEDAL with a 0.31 second PB and continues to be the Woden Swim Club Record holder for this event; Men 11&U 100m Backstroke receiving a GOLD MEDAL with a 0.93 second PB and continues to be the Woden Swim Club Record holder for this event; Men 11&U 50m Backstroke; Mixed Open 200m Breaststroke achieving 14th Place with an HUGE 7.23 second PB and continues to be the Woden Swim Club Record holder for this event; Men 11&U 50m Breaststroke receiving a GOLD MEDAL with a 1.52 second PB; and is the new Woden Swim Club 11yo Boy Record holder for this event (previously held since 08/03/2015); Men 11&U 100m Freestyle receiving a GOLD MEDAL with a 2.30 second PB and is the new Woden Swim Club 11yo Boy Record holder for this event (previously held since 18/06/2007); and Men 11-12yo 200m Individual Medley achieving 4th Place with a 3.99 second PB and is the new Woden Swim Club 11yo Boy Record holder for this event (previously held since 18/06/2007).
