We had 3 Sharks compete at the Canberra Pentathlon which was held at the Gungahlin Leisure Centre on Sunday, 3 September 2017, being Kevin, Benjamin and Madeleine F. As this meet is a Pentathlon, Medals are not given for individual events but to swimmers who perform best over the five races of the meet (four races for 8 8 years and under). The times for all of the races for each swimmer will be added together and the swimmers with the lowest aggregate times are the winners. Medals are awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd male place getters and 1st, 2nd and 3rd place female place getters (based on their aggregate times) in each of the following age groups: 8 and under, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and over.

All swimmers 8 years and under will receive a certificate of participation and a gift.

KEVIN competed in 4 events including:-
- Boys 8 & Under 50m Freestyle, achieving 4th Place with a 2.27 second PB;
- Boys 8 & Under 50m Breaststroke, achieving 3rd Place with a 3.27 second PB;
- Boys 8 & Under 50m Butterfly for the first time, achieving 5th Place; and
- Boys 8 & Under 50m Backstroke, achieving 2nd Place.
BENJAMIN competed in 5 events including:-
- Boys 15 & Over 50m Freestyle, achieving 3rd Place;
- Boys 15 & Over 50m Breaststroke, achieving 2nd Place;
- Boys 15 & Over 50m Butterfly, achieving 2nd Place;
- Boys 15 & Over 50m Backstroke, achieving 2nd Place; and
- Boys 15 & Over 200m Individual Medley, achieving a 1st Place.
MADELEINE F competed in 5 events including:-
- Girls 15 & Over 50m Freestyle, achieving 4th Place with a 1.98 second PB;
- Girls 15 & Over 50m Breaststroke, achieving 2nd Place with a 2.23 second PB;
- Girls 15 & Over 50m Butterfly, achieving 2nd Place with a 2.25 second PB;
- Girls 15 & Over 50m Backstroke, achieving 2nd Place with a 3.73 second PB; and
- Girls 15 & Over 200m Individual Medley, achieving 2nd Place.
