At the end of a week that saw amazing performances from our State Championships team (Congratulations to all these amazing swimmers), we celebrated in style with an End of Year Breakfast BBQ. Our swimmers enjoyed goofing about on the inflatable, before imbibing bacon and egg rolls, and pancakes and fruit, ice creams and more.
Head Coach James and Pres. Marcus presented awards to Most Improved in each squad – Congrats to Harry O (Gold), James B (Silver), James M (Bronze), Campbell (Dev), Milla (Dev Squad Encouragement), Elise (Participation Award), Presidents Award (Charlotte), and Harry B (Outstanding Achievement). And a Club Person of the Year Award to wonderful Tracey who worked so very hard to deliver the amazing new WVSC kit.
We presented awesome shirts to our 2020 Nationals Team – Ben, Kurt and Harry B. And we announced our new Club Captains – Amy G and Nick. And finally we bid Farewell to Harry B and Blake, who are leaving us to move interstate. Best wishes, happy adventures, great swimming, and do stay in touch.
Thank you to all the families who joined us today and for all the yummy food and drinks you brought along to share, thanks to all who helped out setting up, on the BBQ, serving up yummy food, or packing up afterwards. Woden Swim Club hasn’t just survived this weird, difficult and unpredictable year. We’ve thrived. Thanks to everyone who hung in there, and to all those who’ve joined the club since we made the move to Stromlo Leisure Centre. Thanks to our amazing coaches – James, Steve and Natalie.
