The 20th Sri Chinmoy Triple-Triathlon was held in and around Canberra on Sunday, 19 November 2017. It is the ultimate scenic tour of our national capital, a landmark event on the national multi-sport calendar. The race is enjoyed by teams and solo entrants, swimming in three separate lakes, climbing and descending ten peaks. The 150 kilometre Triple-Tri course is an exhilarating exploration of Canberra from every conceivable angle. CONGRATULATIONS to COACH STEVE, JARROD and EMMA who all participated in teams:
- Coach Steve competed with the Team “Hack Remnants” a team of 5 members in the Open 60+ category. Steve swam the first leg in the Second Triathlon, a 3.5km swim in Lake Burley Griffin with a time of 1 hour, 4 minutes and 8 seconds.
- Congratulations Steve and team “Hack Remnants” for taking FIRST PLACE in their category and 25th Place Overall with a time of 11:18.25.
- Jarrod competed with the Team “On The Radar”, put together by Steve, a team of 9 in the Open Category. Jarrod swam the first leg in the First Triathlon, a 1.5km swim in Lake Ginninderra. Jarrod was the fastest Team of 9 male swimmer with a time of 19 minutes & 47 seconds, and was also the fastest swimmer overall for this swim leg in Lake Ginninderra.
- Emma also competed with the Team “On The Radar”, swimming the first leg in the Third Triathlon, a 1.2km swim in Lake Tuggeranong. Emma was the fastest Team of 9 female swimmer with a time of 16 minutes & 51 seconds, and was also the fastest swimmer overall for this swim leg in Lake Tuggeranong.
- Congratulations Jarrod, Emma and Team “On The Radar” for taking FIRST PLACE in their category and FIRST PLACE overall with a time of 8.21.08.
CONGRATULATIONS also to Natasha and Rebecca’s Mum and Dad who also competed in the Triple-Triathlon. Both Simon and Julia competed with the Team “Herding Cats”, a team of 9 in the Mixed Category. Simon rode the second leg (Mountain Bike) in the Second Triathlon, a 36km ride and Julia rode the second leg (Mountain Bike) in the Third Triathlon, a 23km ride. Congratulations Simon, Julia and Team “Herding Cats” for taking SECOND PLACE in their category and 9th Place overall with a time of 10:17.41.
