We had 5 amazing Sharks compete at the 2016 Swimming NSW State Age SC Championships held in Sydney on Friday, Saturday & Sunday, 26th, 27th & 28th August 2016 including Alexis, Jarrod, Jessica L, Ethan and Yaroslav. Our Sharks competed at such a high standard and were fantastic competitors.
To put the Championships into perspective, there were 1595 competitors from 124 swimming clubs across New South Wales and our amazing team of Sharks finished 27th on the point score, which is a fantastic result. Our Sharks should be extremely proud of their efforts. Thank you Coach Steve, and Congratulations to you all for your wonderful achievements throughout this championship meet.
- Alexis competed in 3 individual events, including:-
- 15yo Individual Medley, with a 0.36 second PB, placing 29th overall; and
- 18&U 400m Freestyle, with a 1.51 second PB, placing in the Top 20 for her age group at 16th Place; and
- 18&U 400m Individual Medley, placing in the TOP 10 for her age group at 7th Place.
- Jarrod competed in 5 individual events with a 100% PB RATE, including:-
- 15yo 200m Individual Medley, with a 1.83 second PB, placing in the TOP 10 at 4th Place;
- 15yo 200m Backstroke, with a 1.52 second PB, placing in the TOP 10 at 8th Place;
- 18&U 400m Individual Medley, with a 0.47 second PB, placing in the TOP 10 for his age group at 5th Place;
- 15yo 200m Butterfly, with a 2.92 second PB, placing in the TOP 10 at 7th Place;
- 15yo 200m Freestyle, with a 3.78 second PB, placing in the TOP 10 at 9th Place.
- Jessica competed in 5 individual events, including:-
- 13yo 200m Individual Medley; placing 21st overall;
- 13yo 200m Freestyle, with a 1.71 second PB; placing 24th overall;
- 13yo 100m Backstroke; placing in the Top 20 at 20th Place;
- 13yo 100m Butterfly, with a 0.52 second PB; placing in the Top 20 at 19th Place; and
- 13yo 200m Backstroke, placing in the Top 20 at 18th Place.
- Ethan competed in 7 individual events, including:-
- 15yo 200m Individual Medley, with a 0.64 second PB, placing in the Top 20 at 16th Place;
- 15yo 100m Breaststroke, placing in the Top 20 at 11th Place;
- 15yo 200m Backstroke, placing in the Top 20 at 20th Place;
- 18&U 400m Individual Medley, with a 0.68 second PB, placing in the TOP 10 for his age group at 7th Place;
- 15yo 200m Breaststroke, with a 0.63 second PB, placing in the TOP 10 at 8th Place;
- 15yo 100m Backstroke; placing 24th overall; and
- 15yo 200m Freestyle, placing 29th overall.
- Yaroslav competed in 8 individual events, including:-
- 10&U 50m Freestyle, with a 0.13 second PB, placing in the TOP 10 at 5th Place;
- 10&U 100m Backstroke, placing in the TOP 10 at 5th Place;
- 10&U 100m Freestyle, placing in the TOP 10 at 9th Place;
- 10&U 50m Backstroke, with a 1.12 second PB, placing in the TOP 10 at 5th Place;
- 10&U 50m Butterfly, placing in the TOP 10 at 10th Place;
- 10&U 100m Breaststroke, with a 0.44 second PB, placing in the Top 20 at 11th Place;
- 10&U 100m Butterfly, placing in the Top 20 at 12th Place; and
- 10&U 50m Breaststroke, with a 1.41 second PB, placing in the TOP 10 at 5th Place.
- CONGRATULATIONS to Yaroslav who broke the Woden Swim Club SC records for the 10yo Boys SC 50m Freestyle; 50m Backstroke; 100m Breaststroke; and the 50m Breaststroke (all previously held by Yaroslav). Yaroslav also broke ACT SC Records in the 10yo Boys SC 50m Freestyle (previously held by Yaroslav) breaking the 30 second barrier; and in the 10yo Boys SC 50m Breaststroke (previously held since June 1997), breaking the 40 second barrier.
