MEET REPORT : ACT SC Championships

We had 17 Sharks including Alexis, Amy, Emma, Olivia, Patrick H, Brooke, Amanda, Jarrod, Jessica L, Maddison, Kurt, Ethan, Nicholas, Ben, Jasmine T, Eric and Yaroslav compete at the ACT SC Championships held at the AIS on Saturday and Sunday, 6th & 7th August, 2016. There were many PBs and Medals achieved, but every one of our competitors should be proud of their efforts over the two day meet.

Alexis achieved a 1.16 second PB in her 100m Freestyle; a 0.62 second PB in her 100m Individual Medley; and a 0.82 second PB in her 200m Individual Medley.
Emma won SILVER in her 200m Butterfly; and SILVER in her 200m Freestyle.
Olivia achieved a 0.42 second PB in her 100m Freestyle.
Patrick H achieved a 0.21 second PB in his 100m Freestyle; and a 0.40 second PB in his 100m Butterfly.
Brooke won GOLD with a 1.03 second PB in her 100m Breaststroke; and achieved a 1.65 second PB in her 100m Backstroke.
Jarrod achieved a 0.95 second PB in his 100m Breaststroke.
Jessica L achieved a 0.84 second PB in her 50m Butterfly; and a 0.01 second PB in her 50m Backstroke.
Kurt achieved a 1.62 second PB in his 50m Backstroke; a 0.45 second PB in his 100m Freestyle; a 1.03 second PB in his 50m Butterfly; a 4.35 second PB in his 100m Butterfly; won BRONZE with a 0.77 second PB in his 100m Backstroke; and BRONZE with a 0.54 second PB in his 50m Freestyle.
Nicholas achieved a 100% PB Rate with a 1.90 second PB in his 100m Breaststroke; a 0.21 second PB in his 100m Freestyle; a HUGE 7.42 second PB in his 200m Backstroke; a 0.74 second PB in his 100m Backstroke; and SILVER with a 0.35 second PB in his 50m Freestyle.
Ben won BRONZE in his 100m Freestyle; and SILVER with a HUGE 5.60 second PB in his 100m Breaststroke.
Eric won SILVER with a 0.15 second PB in his 50m Freestyle.
Yaroslav won SILVER in his 100m Breaststroke; SILVER with a 0.59 second PB in his 50m Backstroke (New Woden Record); SILVER in his 50m Butterfly; GOLD with a HUGE 6.15 second PB in his 100m Individual Medley (New Woden Record); GOLD with a 2.48 second PB in his 50m Breaststroke (New Woden Record and New ACT SC Champs Titleholder); GOLD with a 1.72 second PB in his 100m Backstroke (New Woden Record; New ACT SC Champs Meet & Titleholder); and GOLD in his 50m Freestyle (New ACT SC Champs Titleholder).

On the first day of competition (Saturday), our Club, under the direction of our amazing Vice President and Meet Director Marcus Stokes, provided support in fulfilling official roles and providing the catering requirements. Thank you very much to all our volunteers and to those who provided donations required to feed the hungry officials, coaches and timekeepers. Once again, our Catering crew did a fantastic job and did our club proud. Also, a special thank you to our amazing Sharks who helped out when not competing in the pool. And finally, thank you to Coach Neill, Coach Beth, and Coach Steve for their coaching expertise and support throughout the Championship. Thank you!
