It has been bought to the attention of the Executive over the past couple of months that quite a number of swimmers have been showing up late to the afternoon training sessions. We understand that occasionally these delays cannot be avoided, especially when the swimmers are catching buses, but we would like to point out this issue effects the club as a whole.
At the moment it is up to the coaches to determine the number of lanes Woden requires to train. The number of lanes hired is dependent on the number of swimmers that are present on pool deck just prior to 4.30pm.
If swimmers arrive after 4:30pm and after coaches have handed lanes back, the congestion of swimmers in lanes is an issue. It is also unfair to expect swimmers who have arrived on time and warmed up to have to wait or share a lane with a number of swimmers who are still warming up. This is enormously disruptive for both swimmers and coaches.
It is because of this that the Committee has instructed the coaches to take a more proactive role with regards to minimising interruptions to swim sets that have already commenced. We are asking that swimmers pay attention to coaches requests to help reduce the potential for disruptions for the benefit of the club as a whole.
Please direct any queries to the Executive via the website. Thanks for your time and hopefully this issue will be resolved in the near future.
